Doves = Peace Not Targets

The Songbird Protection Coalition's Official Campaign message Doves = Peace Not Targets is reaching even more concerned citizens so they may participate in the long heritage and tradition of mourning dove protection in Michigan.

The Problem: In this era of special interest legislation, citizens find it very difficult to keep track of important issues they care about. No single issue is more hotly contested by the majority of Michigan citizens than the shooting of mourning doves...and political spin often clouds the real intent of sophistical lawmakers and proposed legislation that would target a songbird that has been protected in Michigan for almost 100 years.

One Solution: 48 foot hand painted banners are floating the state! Billboards have been quietly going up since February 15th of 2002, targeting specific districts, and are now in several prime locations. With more to come, and an average of 800,000 drive-bys per month at each location, watch for one in your area!

The mourning dove is officially declared and known as Michigan's Bird of Peace.
