Help Get a Dove Bill Passed

Dove Hunting in Michigan - Message from Rep. Sue Tabor and Jim Shaeffer

Representative Sue Tabor and Jim Shaeffer, Vice Chairman - Michigan State Council of Pheasants Forever, request your help in promoting passage of a dove hunting bill by the Michigan Legislature.

We have all been asked the following question repeatedly this year "How we are going to get Dove Hunting legalized in Michigan?"

We believe that if a concerted effort is put forth by sportsmen, women and kids to write letters to Governor John Engler asking for this recreational opportunity, that we can get it done this year.

If you would please take the time to write a letter to Governor Engler asking for a dove season, we might be able to get this issue on his radar screen. Even if you never want to hunt doves in Michigan, take the time to write the letter. We are sick and tired of the animal rights extremists dictating our wildlife management, which is exactly what happened last December when we fell one vote short in the state Senate of passing the dove bill into law.

Letters should be addressed to:

Governor John Engler
P.O. Box 30013
Lansing, Michigan 48909

Please address your letter to the Governor but send it to Rep. Sue Tabor at:

Michigan House of Representatives
Representative Susan L. Tabor
P.O. Box 30014
Lansing, MI 48909-7514

With your help, we can pass a dove bill this year.
