Action Alert Update

UPDATE TO COURT ORDERED INJUNCTION ARTICLE JUNE 2004:

Employees of the Michigan Department of Natural Resources and members of the Natural Resource Commission continued to influence the passage of this legislation in several ways. See more here.

UPDATE TO URGENT ACTION ALERT January 2002:

Because of direct violations of the permanent court ordered injunction by the Natural Resource Commission (NRC) and Department of Natural Resources (DNR), the Michigan Humane Society (MHS) had its attorney notify the state Assistant Attorney General who is assigned to NRC/DNR matters that the MHS would report to the court and pursue any further lobbying violations by NRC and DNR personnel.

In the mid 1980s, when the NRC and DNR tried to bypass the legislature to put mourning doves on the list of game, the MHS stepped forward and defended the constitutional rights of the people of the state of Michigan with a successful lawsuit against the NRC/DNR for constitutional violations.

Further violations of the permanent court ordered injunction by the NRC and DNR will not be tolerated by the people of the state of Michigan!
